Classified Advertising
We hope to have an online classified system in the future so that all classified ads can be placed online. Currently ads should be sent by email as described below.
Ads must be received by the 15th of the month for the following month’s issue. Send classifieds by email to KarissaMcGlynn @ gmail.com. Following the content of your ad please count each word and list the word count and expected payment amount. Also list your name, address and contact information for our billing department.
We will email back to confirm receipt of ad and amount due, and give you our bookkeeper’s phone number for you to make a credit card payment. Ads must be paid for by the 17th in order to run in the next issue of the paper.

Tips for Writing Classified Ads - The Front Porch strongly recommends putting the subject of the ad first since ads are alphabetized by the first word. Most people don’t read all the classifieds, they look for something specifc. House cleaners are most likely to be found under “H.” Readers are not likely to look for a house cleaner under “P,” where “Professional house cleaner” would be listed. Likewise, an ad alphabetized in the “A’s” under “AAA Cleaning service” may not be found by those who go straight to “H” for housecleaners.
Ad Content - Be sure to clearly state exactly what the ad is offering and include contact information. Other information to consider might include: length of time in business, whether local references are available, degrees or training if applicable, and website.
Formatting - The Front Porch will print the first few words in all capital letters to highlight the subject of the ad. Remaining text is all lower case (other than initial caps). There is no bold, underline or italic and all text is the same size.
