About Us

The Front Porch was started by Forest City in 2000 as a means to keep surrounding communities and public officials informed of the progress of the development of Stapleton. Forest City contracted with FinePrintCo, a desktop publishing business that had a staff with extensive newspaper experience, to produce the paper. After several years, Forest City made a decision, since they are a developer, not a publisher, to have the owners of FinePrintCo start developing the Front Porch into a community newspaper, with Tom Gleason remaining as editor during a transition period.

Stapleton Front Porch LLC was established as a Colorado company by current publisher Carol Roberts in July 2005 and the paper has been financially independent from Forest City since 2006. The editors/publishers, Carol Roberts and Steve Larson, have no financial or other ties or obligations to Forest City or any other person or business.
