October Front Porch Corrections:
School Board District Numbers
In the school board candidate interviews with Mike Johnson and Meg Schomp on pages 9 & 10, their district number was incorrectly listed as District 4. They are District 3 and that district includes Lowry, Montclair, Mayfair and Hale.
Voter Registration Date
The front page inaccurately stated the final day to register online for the November election is October 7. The correct date is October 28.
Election Information
What school board district am I in and who are the candidates?
School Board District 4, currently Landri Taylor (formerly Nate Easley) includes Stapleton and all of Park Hill and East Colfax neighborhoods. The candidates are Landri Taylor and Roger Kilgore.
School Board District 3, currently Jeannie Kaplan, includes Montclair, Mayfair, Hale and Lowry. The candidates are Mike Johnson and Meg Schomp.
Everyone in Denver will vote for an at-large seat. The at-large candidates are Michael Kiley, Barbara O’Brien and Joan Poston.

A district 4 candidate form will be held Wednesday, October 9th at 7pm and can be watched live at DPStv Channel 22.

Forums on both school board candidates and the marijuana and school finance tax issues will be held by The League of Women Voters and INC (Inter-neighborhood Cooperation).
The Northeast Denver Forum, featuring District 4 candidates Landri Taylor and Roger Kilgore and At-Large candidates Barbara O’Brien, Michael Kiley and Joan Poston, will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, from 7 pm to 8:30 pm in the Fellowship Hall of Montview Presbyterian Church, 1980 Dahlia St.
A citywide forum, featuring at-large candidates Barbara O’Brien, Michael Kiley and Joan Poston, will be held Saturday, Oct. 12, from 9:30am to 11:30am in the community room of the Denver Police Department District 3 Station, 1625 S. University Blvd. The second half of the forum will feature representatives of organizations that either support or oppose selected Nov. 5 ballot issues, including Amendment 66 and proposed state and city marijuana taxes.
Forums with candidates for each of the school board districts will be videotaped by Denver 8 TV and broadcast periodically beginning in late September.
